Recruiting for HR Manager

McTaggart Construction is looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager.  This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Board.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a modern advisory and support service to the company on all Human Resource issues
  • Offer support, guidance and advice in employee relation issues and all other HR matters
  • Manage complex employee relations including dispute resolution, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy
  • Liaise with external contacts including recruitment agencies, and suppliers of other HR products and services
  • Liaise with Payroll department ensuring all HR related paperwork is processed
  • Liaise with Community Benefits team, providing relevant information when necessary
  • Provide front line advice and support to site teams to ensure relevant processes such as company inductions, recruitment, sickness absence monitoring, holiday reporting and management are managed efficiently. 
  • Support the recruitment process, including writing job descriptions
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement change where necessary
  • Support Managers in staff performance and effective people management, sourcing training where required
  • Lead on the Investors in People accreditation reviews, managing the interface between staff and IIP/IIYP consultant. Implement recommendations for improvement resulting from IIP assessments
  • Maintain HR Personnel Records
  • Undertake associated administrative, record keeping tasks as commensurate with the position

Person Specification:

  • Must have a relevant HR qualification
  • Must be hands on
  • Possess a can do attitude
  • 5+ years relevant HRM experience
