Project Facts at a Glance
|Description||Melville Gardens is a development of 42 new semi-detached and detached family homes in the friendly and welcoming small town of Beith in North Ayrshire. The development enjoys a semi-rural setting, offering countryside views over the Garnock Valley.|
All design decisions were taken with a view to creating a safe and pleasant environment and ensuring that the houses sit well in the existing settlement and creates within it, built and open spaces that people enjoy.
The sole vehicular access point is at northern end of the boundary on Auldlea Road. This location was selected to continue the existing route into the field and has the advantage of ensuring maximum junction visibility and requiring the minimum of tree felling to accommodate the access road.
The built form selected as being appropriate for this development is 2-storey detached and semi-detached houses with pitched roofs. These are arranged tightly enough to provide a sense of community while being aware of the need for privacy, permeability and parking.
